There’s always something happening on River Street, and you’re just steps away. Find art galleries, an outdoor market, and specialty shops at every turn. Stroll the cobblestones to see the Waving Girl statue, the Olympic Cauldron, the World War II Monument, and the African-American Monument. At the far west end, the Plant Riverside Entertainment District offers more shopping, dining, and activities.
Step outside and you’re on Factors Walk, a series of passageways, alleys, walkways, and bridges lined with eclectic shops, restaurants, and boutiques. Right outside our door, a ramp leads from Bay Street down the bluff to River Street, paved with cobblestones brought as ballast and abandoned on the riverbanks by departing ships. It’s a fun, and sometimes spooky, place to explore.
A short walk away, Savannah’s famously beautiful squares await. Start along the 10-block stretch of Bull Street that runs from City Hall to Forsyth Park, about a 20-minute stroll through the squares. Don’t miss Ellis Square near City Market, home to the Johnny Mercer monument and water feature.
Savannah’s long history lends itself to haunted mansions, streets, cemeteries, and even hotels. Book one of the city’s many ghost tours, we can help, and explore the most haunted spots, including The Pirates’ House, The Marshall House, and Colonial Park Cemetery.
